What Real Strength Means in 2025 (And Why We Started The Other Side of Strong)

Let’s be real: there’s a lot of noise out there about what it means to be strong. Some of it’s performative. Some of it’s toxic. And a lot of it is just… hollow. We’re told strength is domination. That real men don’t cry. That discipline means isolation. That leadership is loud. That vulnerability is weakness.

We don’t buy it. And that’s exactly why The Other Side of Strong exists.

We Didn’t Just Want to Start a Podcast. We Wanted to Build a Platform

Over two years ago, this idea was born, but not in a boardroom or a brainstorm. It came from lived experience. From failure. From rebuilding. From sitting in the dark and choosing to rise instead of disappear.

And for a long time, it stayed just that… an idea. Not because we weren’t ready to speak, but because we weren’t ready to speak with the wrong people. This isn’t a solo project. It never was. And the reason this show is launching now, not in 2022, not in 2023, is because the right team is finally in the room.

Kat. Luke. And me. Each of us has lived a different path. Each of us brings something unique to the mic. And none of us is here to play it safe.

Why It Had to Be Kat and Luke

Kat isn’t just a cohost. She’s a mirror. She’s walked through hell and come out softer and stronger. A former teen mom turned emotionally grounded powerhouse, Kat brings a voice this space has needed for years: female, faithful, direct, unfiltered, and fully present. Her ability to challenge from a place of love, and to love without losing her standards, is rare. She brings grace where the world usually expects grind, and it lands.

Luke? Luke is fire. He’s lived with masks, burned them all, and built something better from the ashes. He doesn’t sugarcoat. Doesn’t shrink. He’s the guy who will call you out with intensity and call you in with integrity. He’s the edge this show needs, the one that says, “You already know what to do. So why aren’t you doing it?”

Together, the three of us don’t cover all the voices, but we cover a spectrum that makes this show feel like more than a podcast. It feels like a room where every kind of strength has a seat.

What You Can Expect

We’re not here to fix you. We’re here to go first. This show is built around conversations that most people don’t get to have, especially not out loud. Discipline. Leadership. Emotional resilience. Self-respect. Fatherhood. Burnout. Faith. Fear. Failure. Rebuilding from scratch. The stuff that shapes you, and scars you.

We’re not performing strength. We’re practicing it. In real-time. Episodes drop weekly, and each one will pair with a written article like this. So whether you’re a listener, a reader, or both, you’ve got a space to dig deeper, reflect longer, and walk away sharper.

Why Now?

Because we’re tired of watching good people disappear into the algorithm. Because we believe the world doesn’t need louder men, it needs deeper ones. Because someone has to say the things that matter before they go unsaid again.

The Other Side of Strong isn’t content. It’s a code.

We’re recording Episode One this Saturday, May 17. If all goes well, the first episode drops Friday, May 23. Worst case? Friday, May 30.

Welcome to the warpath.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve ever felt like modern masculinity is either performative or silent, you’re not alone. The Other Side of Strong is about building something deeper with discipline, presence, and emotional truth. Whether you lead a team, a family, or just yourself, strength isn’t about how loud you are. It’s about how well you carry the weight.

We’re here to explore that weight. Every week.
